Bear Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. bear meat, cubed
    5 medium size potatoes, cubed
    3 tomatoes or 1/2 c. ketchup
    3/4 tsp. black pepper
    2 Tbsp. bacon grease
    3 carrots, sliced
    2 bay leaves
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Brown meat well in hot fat.
    Season with salt and pepper. Cover with hot water and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
    Add cubed vegetables and bay leaves, and cook slowly 25 minutes.
    When meat and vegetables are tender, thicken slightly with flour mixed with cold water.
