Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. brown sugar (white sugar will do)
    2 eggs
    1 c. light molasses
    1 heaping tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. ground ginger
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs, then molasses. Mix well. Add dry ingredients which have been sifted together; mix in. Last, add the boiling water, very slowly, stirring constantly. Bake in a shallow greased pan for 35 to 40 minutes at 350\u00b0.
