Bratten'S Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans minced clams
    1 c. diced celery
    3/4 c. butter
    1 qt. half and half
    1 1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 c. chopped onion
    2 c. chopped potatoes
    3/4 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Drain juice from clams and pour over vegetables; add enough water to barely cover and simmer, covered, until potatoes are tender, approximately 20 minutes.
    Then melt butter; add flour and blend.
    Cook 1 or 2 minutes; add half and half and cook, stirring, until smooth and thick.
    Add undrained vegetables and clams; heat through.
    Season with salt, pepper and sugar.
