Ingredients

3 c. milk
1 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. flour or cornstarch
2 eggs, separated
1/3 tsp. vanilla
vanilla wafers
bananas
Preparation

Scald milk.
Mix flour (or cornstarch) together.
When milk comes to a slight bubble, stir in flour and 1 cup sugar.
Continue to stir while thickening.
After sauce thickens, stir 2 tablespoons of sauce with 2 egg yolks, then add this to sauce. Add vanilla to sauce.
Place in layers:
vanilla wafers, bananas and sauce.
Repeat.
Top with meringue made from 2 egg whites and 3 tablespoons sugar.
Brown.
