Squash Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium squash
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. diced ham or bacon
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. milk
    1 egg
    1/2 c. bread or cracker crumbs
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Wash squash, cut in small pieces; cook in small amount of water until tender; drain thoroughly.
    Mash and add other ingredients; mix well.
    Bake in 1-quart greased casserole dish for 30 minutes in medium hot oven at 350\u00b0
    or 400\u00b0.
    Can grate some cheese.
    Add to mixture.
