Ingredients

1 c. shortening (half butter)
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 large eggs (save 2 egg whites for frosting)
2 2/3 c. sifted cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
Preparation

Beat shortening until fluffy.
Gradually add sugar.
Beat eggs in, one at a time.
Add flavoring. Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
Mix well after each addition. Mix until well blended.
Spread batter evenly in three greased 9-inch pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
Let cool and frost with Seven Minute Frosting.
