Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vinegar
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    2 oz. red food coloring
    2 tsp. cocoa
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. sour cream
    1 c. pecans
Preparation
    Mix the soda and vinegar; set aside.
    Cream the shortening, sugar and eggs.
    Make a paste with food coloring and cocoa in a large bowl.
    Add eggs and sugar mixture to the paste.
    Add sour cream and pecans.
    Add buttermilk, salt, sifted flour and vanilla. Fold in vinegar and soda.
    Bake in two 9-inch pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
