Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. grated lemon rind (optional)
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg, unbeaten
    2 Tbsp. milk
    2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Blend
    together shortening, salt, lemon rind and sugar. Beat in egg and milk.
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
    Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls
    on
    a baking sheet.
    Grease bottom of a glass.
    Dip glass
    in
    colored sugar and flatten each cookie. Bake
    8
    to
    10 minutes,
    until
    light golden.
    Cool on rack. Makes about 3 dozen.
