Caramel Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 qt. or 14 c. popped corn
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. light brown sugar
    1/4 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Place popcorn in large well-greased broiler pan.
    In a heavy saucepan, melt butter.
    Stir in sugar, corn syrup and salt.
    Boil for 5 minutes over medium heat.
    Stir in vanilla and soda.
    Pour syrup over corn, mixing well.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
    When cool, separate kernels.
    Store tightly covered.
    Makes 3 1/2 quarts.
