Divinity - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. water
5 c. sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
2 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Combine sugar, water and syrup in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.
Cook and stir until sugar dissolves.
Bring to a
boil, then cover and boil for 2 minutes.
Remove lid and cook until soft, firm ball stage.
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Pour syrup slowly over beaten egg whites.
Continue beating.
Add vanilla and beat until it loses gloss.
Add nuts last, if desired. Spoon out quickly on wax paper.
