Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
3 1/2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. soda
5 Tbsp. milk
2 c. dates, chopped
3/4 c. pecans, chopped
Preparation

Combine butter, salt
and vanilla.
Add sugar gradually and cream well.
Add eggs and
mix well.
Sift flour with soda and add
to creamed
mixture.
Alternate
with
milk,
mixing thoroughly.
Add dates and
pecans.
Stir
in
well.
Drop
by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet.
Flatten cookies with damp over the bottom
of a glass.
Sprinkle each cookie with sugar. Bake in 375\u00b0 preheated oven 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes 6 dozen.
