Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe

4 c. flour
3 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
6 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 c. raisins
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease 2-quart round casserole dish. In large bowl with a fork, mix flour and next 4 ingredients with pastry blender.
Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in raisins.
Beat eggs in a small bowl with a fork and remove 1 tablespoon and save.
Stir into flour mixture just until flour is moistened (dough will be sticky).
Turn dough onto floured surface.
Knead and shape into ball.
Place in a casserole.
Cut a cross in center of dough.
Brush dough with saved egg.
Bake 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Cool.
