Ginger Apple Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. flour
    1/4 c. wheat germ
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/3 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. butter, divided
    3/4 c. packed brown sugar
    3 large tart apples
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 c. molasses
Preparation
    Combine all dry ingredients.
    Stir well and set aside.
    Melt 1/4 cup butter and pour in 8-inch square pan.
    Sprinkle with brown sugar.
    Core, peel and halve apples crosswise.
    Arrange flat side down in pan.
    Cream together butter, sugar and egg until fluffy. Beat in molasses.
    Add to dry ingredients and boiling water.
    Mix only until blended and pour over apples.
    Bake in a preheated oven at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
