Treasure Chest Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. butter or stick margarine
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. milk
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chocolate chips
1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, cut up
1 c. powdered sugar
cherry juice
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients.
Set aside.
Cream together brown and white sugars and butter.
Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each.
Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
Drain cherries, saving juice.
Add nuts, chocolate chips and cherries.
Bake in jelly roll pan at 325\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
Make frosting with powdered sugar and cherry juice.
Frost while still warm.
