Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. meal
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. flour
1 1/3 c. buttermilk
1 egg

Preparation

Mix ingredients well and drop from teaspoon into deep, hot shortening.
Fry until brown.
