Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
    1 pkg. light caramels
    1 pkg. milk chocolate chips
    1/2 c. canned evaporated milk
    1 1/2 sticks butter
    1 c. pecans
Preparation
    Mix cake per package instructions.
    Pour 1/2 of batter into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes. Melt caramels with milk and butter.
    Sprinkle chocolate chips, pecans and caramel mixture over partially baked batter, then pour the rest of the batter on top.
    Bake 25 minutes.
    Serve warm with whipped cream if desired.
