Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 egg
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add egg and vanilla.
    Mix well.
    Sift together flour, soda and cream of tartar. Blend in.
    Cover with plastic or foil and chill.
    Roll out on lightly floured board or between two sheets of floured wax paper. Cut into fancy shapes with a cookie cutter.
    Place on lightly greased baking sheets.
    Sprinkle with plain or colored sugar.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for about 8 minutes, or until very light brown.
