Ingredients

3/4 c. butter Crisco
1 c. peanut butter
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. water
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. Quaker oats
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Beat first 3 ingredients until creamy.
Beat in water, egg and vanilla.
Add combine dry ingredients; mix well.
Cover and chill about 2 hours.
Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Shape into 1-inch balls.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Flatten with fork dipped in sugar, crisscross.
Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet.
Cool completely.
Makes about 7 dozen.
