Apricot Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. dried apricots
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped dates
    3/4 c. butter
    1 1/4 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Chop apricots.
    Cover with boiling water for 5 minutes; drain. Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
    Add remaining ingredients; mix well.
    Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet; bake about 12 minutes at 325\u00b0.
