Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1/2 c. molasses
4 c. plain flour
4 tsp. soda
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation

Mix first 4 ingredients. Sift together dry ingredients and add to first mixture. Chill in refrigerator, then roll into 1-inch balls and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 12 dozen.
