Molasses Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. molasses
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 egg
    2 c. flour (more if needed)
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    raisins
Preparation
    Mix sugar, cinnamon, cloves, shortening, eggs and molasses; beat well.
    Add flour and baking soda (if baking soda is mixed with first cup of flour, it blends better).
    Add flour slowly. Let dough stand in refrigerator for 1/2 hour.
    Spoon dough onto cookie sheet.
    Grease the bottom of a glass, dip in sugar, press cookie and add raisin on top.
    Bake for 15 minutes at 300\u00b0.
    Check often.
