Swiss Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. round steak
3/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. canned tomatoes
2 Tbsp. lard (shortening)
1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Preparation

Have steak cut 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick; season the flour with salt and pepper.
Dredge both sides of steak with flour so that as much as possible is taken up.
Brown steak on both sides in hot lard.
Add tomatoes and Worcestershire sauce.
Cover and simmer for 2 1/2 hours.
