Stephanie'S Lo-Fat Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. evaporated skim milk
    3/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
    1 c. unsweetened applesauce
    1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 large egg whites
Preparation
    Preheat
    oven
    to 350\u00b0 and grease and flour 13 x 9-inch pan. Heat
    evaporated
    milk in a medium saucepan until barely simmering.\tRemove from heat, whisk in cocoa until smooth, let cool

    to
    3
    minutes.
    Mix
    flour
    1 1/4 cups sugar, baking powder,
    baking
    soda and salt in large bowl.
    Beat egg whites with
    electric
    mixer
    on high until thick and foamy.
    Beat in remaining
    1/4 cup sugar until stiff peaks form.
    With spatula mix 1/4 egg whites into flour mixture.
    Fold in remaining egg whites until
    no
    white
    streaks remain.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes
    or until
    pick inserted near center comes out clean. This cake has less than 6 grams of fat.
