Vegetable Beef Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef cubes
    1/2 c. diced onions
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    2 bouillon cubes or 2 cans beef stock
    7 c. water
    1 can whole tomatoes
    1 medium potato, diced
    1/2 c. barley
    1/2 c. sliced carrots
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1/2 tsp. basil
    1 bay leaf
    1 (9 oz.) box frozen mixed vegetables
Preparation
    In a large soup pot, brown beef cubes, then add onion and garlic.
    Cook 5 minutes or until soft.
    Add remaining ingredients except frozen vegetables.
    Cover and simmer 1 hour.
    Add frozen vegetables; simmer 10 minutes more.
