Owens Sausage And Hot Apple Sandwiches - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. Owens regular sausage
3 large tart apples, cored and chopped in a medium-large dice
1 small onion, chopped
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
12 slices bread
soft margarine to spread on bread
Preparation

Crumble sausage and saute until just gray.
Drain excess oil and add apples, onions and cinnamon and continue to saute until the onions are translucent and the apples are just tender.
Heat a pocket sandwich maker until hot.
Spread margarine on one side of four slices of bread.
Place two slices of bread on the sandwich maker, margarine side down, and put 1/6th of the sausage apple mixture on each slice.
Top each with another slice of bread, margarine side out.
Seal and cook until nicely browned.
Continue until bread and mixture are gone.
This should make 12 half sandwiches.
