Soft Pretzels - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. cake yeast
1 1/2 c. lukewarm water
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
4 c. flour
1 to 2 eggs, beaten (for brushing on top)
large grain salt (if available; for sprinkling on top)
Preparation

Knead mixture into soft dough.
Do not let rise.
Cut into small pieces immediately and roll into \"ropes\" (not too thick; they swell in baking).
Twist into pretzel shape.
Lay on foil covered cookie sheet dusted with flour.
Brush with beaten egg and salt lightly as desired.
Bake at 400\u00b0 until golden brown.
Makes 3 to 6 dozen.
