Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    5 eggs, separated
    2 c. sugar
    1 stick oleo
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. flour
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 small can flaked coconut
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix milk, soda, cream, sugar, butter and shortening.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time.
    Beat well.
    Then add milk and flour.
    Add vanilla; fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Add coconut and nuts. Bake in 2 layers pans, greased and floured, at 325\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
