Johnny Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 egg
1 c. sugar (white, brown or combined)
1 tsp. salt
1 c. sour milk to which has been added 1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. flour (white, whole wheat or combined)
1 c. corn meal

Preparation

Beat egg slightly and add the sugar and salt.
Stir the soda into the sour milk and add the sugar and egg mixture.
Add the flour and corn meal and stir until blended.
Bake in a buttered 9 x 9-inch pan or buttered individual pans at 425\u00b0 for about 20 minutes.
