Soft Pretzels - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 envelope dry yeast
1 1/2 c. warm water
4 c. flour
1 egg
coarse salt
Preparation

In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water (105\u00b0 to 115\u00b0).
Blend in the flour.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured board and knead it until it is smooth.
Break off small pieces of dough; roll them into ropes.
Twist the ropes into the traditional pretzel shape.
Arrange the pretzels on cookie sheets, lined with greased paper.
Brush them with beaten egg and sprinkle them generously with salt.
