Apple-Raisin Stuffed Chops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 thick pork chops
    1/4 c. milk
    1 c. soft bread crumbs
    1 c. finely chopped peeled apple
    1/2 c. raisins
    1 Tbsp. melted butter
    2 Tbsp. shortening or oil
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. sage
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Cut pocket in chops
    along
    the
    bone.\tPour
    milk over bread crumbs.
    Stir in
    apples,
    raisins,
    salt,\tthe sage and melted butter.
    Stuff each chop with about 1/4 cup of filling. Brown chops in shortening
    or
    oil.
    Pour oil off when browned and season with pepper and salt.
    Cover tightly and simmer for 45 minutes to an hour.
    Serves 6.
