Caramel Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 stick butter or margarine
    2 eggs
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2/3 c. chopped nuts
    2/3 c. pitted dates, chopped
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Melt the sugar and butter over low heat. Cool. Add eggs and beat until light. Stir in dry ingredients and beat.
    Fold in nuts, dates and vanilla. Spread thinly in a 9
    x 13-inch shallow pan and bake 25 to 30 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven. Cut in squares before cold.
