Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. pitted dates
    3/4 c. white raisins
    2 c. water
    1 stick oleo
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. plain yogurt
    2 scant tsp. soda
    4 level tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    3 c. flour
Preparation
    Place dates, raisins and water in pan to boil slowly 15 minutes covered.
    Set aside for cooling or even overnight.
    Cream sugars and oleo; add eggs.
    Beat well, then add all ingredients and flour.
    Stir well.
    Add 1 cup chopped nuts, if desired.
    Make 4 small to medium loaves or 3 large loaves.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 25 minutes, then at 300\u00b0.
    Total Baking Time:
    45 to 55 minutes. Test for doneness with a toothpick.
    Do not overbake.
