Oatmeal Crisps - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
3 c. quick oats
1/2 c. chopped nuts
6 oz. chocolate chips, butterscotch chips or candied fruit (optional)
Preparation

Cream the shortening and sugars.
Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
Add sifted dry ingredients, oats, nuts and chocolate chips, if desired.
May be cooked as drop cookies or form in long rolls and chill.
Slice 1/4 inch thick and bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
