Fried Cheese Meltaways - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    vegetable oil
    1 c. baking mix
    1/2 c. milk
    1 egg
    1 lb. Jack, Cheddar, American, Swiss or Mozzarella cheese, cut into 3/4-inch squares
    baking mix to coat
Preparation
    Heat 2 inches of oil in deep fat fryer to 375\u00b0.
    Beat 1 cup of baking mix, milk and egg with hand beater until smooth.
    Coat cheese lightly with baking mix.
    Insert a round wooden toothpick in each cube.
    Dip into batter, covering cheese completely.
    Fry several cubes at a time, turning carefully until golden brown,
    1 to 2 minutes.
    Drain on paper towel.
    (Leave toothpicks in.
    Keep oil moving with basket or slotted spoon.)
