Hot Cheese Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
    1 c. yellow cornmeal
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 c. sharp cheese, shredded
    1 c. milk
    1 egg
    1/4 c. shortening
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Sift together flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt and baking powder.
    Add cheese, milk, egg and shortening. Beat with rotary beater about 1 minute or until smooth.
    Pour into greased 8-inch square pan.
    Bake 30 minutes.
    Cut into squares and serve while hot.
