Old Fashion Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. Great Northern beans
    small end of ham (with bone)
    4 to 5 stalks celery, diced
    2 to 3 medium to large onions, diced
    1 carrot, grated fine
    1 large can whole tomatoes
    1/8 c. parsley
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Soak beans in water overnight; drain.
    Place ham in large pot (4 quart).
    Fill halfway with water.
    Add beans, cut up tomatoes and juice, diced celery and onions, grated carrot and parsley. Bring to a boil; cover and finish cooking in oven at 300\u00b0 to 325\u00b0 for 5 to 6 hours or all day if possible.
    Stir occasionally.
    Add water if necessary.
