Cinnamon Sticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter or margarine
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 c. flour
    1 egg yolk (reserve egg white for top)
    4 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Gradually add flour, then egg yolk, cinnamon and vanilla.
    Put on buttered cookie sheet and pat down until about 1/4-inch thick.
    Put the unbeaten egg white on top; spread all over, then press chopped pecans down into all.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for about 30 minutes.
    Cut in oblong pieces.
    Powdered sugar may be sprinkled over sticks (optional).
