Fat Free Refried Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. rinsed pinto beans, soaked overnight
    1 chopped onion
    1 chopped clove garlic
    1/2 tsp. chili powder
Preparation
    Drain beans.
    Cover with water.
    Add remaining ingredients. Simmer until very tender, stirring occasionally and adding water if needed.
    It should be thick and soupy.
    Add salt to taste. Blend with hand blender until fairly smooth, still with some whole beans.
    Cook to thicken if necessary.
    Refrigerate or freeze.
