Aunt Jean'S Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 c. flour
    1/4 c. butter or shortening
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 c. milk
    2 eggs
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Combine dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
    Stir well.
    Add butter or shortening, milk and eggs.
    Mix well, but don't overmix.
    Pour into a greased 9 x 9-inch baking dish.
    Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.
