Ingredients

2 c. molasses
1 c. sugar
1 c. lard
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. grated alum
1 tsp. salt or more
4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. boiling water (1/2 on soda, 1/2 on alum)
11 c. flour
Preparation
-
Cream sugar and lard.
Add molasses and water.
Stir in enough flour so that dough does not stick.
Refrigerate overnight.
