Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg, beaten slightly
    2/3 c. milk
    1 c. cornmeal
    1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    6 medium sized green tomatoes, sliced
    vegetable oil
Preparation
    Combine milk and egg; mix well.
    Stir together cornmeal, flour, salt and pepper.
    Dip tomato slices into egg mixture, then into cornmeal mixture.
    Fry tomato slices in hot oil until browned.
    Turn once.
    Drain on paper towels.
    Yield:
    8 to 10 servings.
