Hard Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 3/4 c. sugar
    1 1/4 c. white syrup
    1 c. hot water
Preparation
    Bring to boil, stirring constantly.
    When candy thermometer reaches 300\u00b0 take off stove.
    Stir in flavoring and then coloring. Pour in thin strips over powdered sugar which is spread over a formica top.
    Use enough powdered sugar so it won't stick to the table top.
    Let cool a little, then start to break in small pieces.
