Huntington Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. self-rising flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
2 eggs
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Butter an 8 x 8-inch pan.
In small saucepan, over low heat, melt together chocolate and shortening. Remove from heat, let cool slightly and stir in vanilla.
In a small bowl, combine flour and sugar; mix well.
Add flour-sugar mixture and milk to chocolate mixture alternately.
Beat in eggs, one at a time; mixing until well combined.
Spread in pan and bake for about 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
