Chile Con Carne - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 Tbsp. shortening
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 to 1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. black pepper
about 2 tsp. chili powder
1 lg. can tomatoes, undrained
1 can tomato soup
1 can kidney beans
Preparation

Melt shortening in pan, add onion and beef and brown slightly.
Add seasoning, tomatoes, tomato soup and kidney beans. Cook slowly about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
(If you like your chili HOT, add 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper and increase black pepper and chili powder.)
Serves 5.
