Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. moist dates, cut fine
    1 c. Morency cherries, cut fine
    1 tsp. soda dissolved in 1 c. hot water
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 egg
    2 c. flour
    1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Pour soda water over dates and cherries.
    Let cool while mixing sugar and butter with egg.
    Add to date mixture.
    Add flour and nuts and bake in loaf or muffin pan.
    Serve with whipped cream.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
