Bread And Butter Pickles With Carrots - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium onions, sliced
    3 bell peppers, chopped
    1 bunch carrots, sliced thin
    4 qt. cucumbers, sliced thin
    1/3 c. salt
    3 c. cider vinegar
    5 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    2 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Combine onions, peppers, carrots and cucumbers.
    Mix in salt. Cover with ice and let stand 3 hours.
    Drain well.
    Combine remaining ingredients and pour over pickle mixture.
    Bring to a bubbling boil and boil 1 minute.
    Pack in hot jars and seal.
