Lay-By Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large cabbage
    1 large green bell pepper, sliced
    1 large onion, sliced
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. white vinegar
    3/4 c. oil
    1 Tbsp. dry mustard
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    Shred cabbage.
    Layer cabbage, onion and bell pepper in a large bowl.
    Pour 1 cup sugar over top; do not stir.
    Boil vinegar, oil, dry mustard, celery seed and salt.
    Pour over cabbage mixture.
    Refrigerate 24 hours.
    Stir before serving.
