Congo Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening
    1 (1 lb.) box light brown sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. nuts, chopped
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 small bag semi-sweet chocolate bits or butterscotch
Preparation
    Melt shortening.
    Add sugar, then cool.
    Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Spread in a greased 10 x 15-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Cool and cut in squares and it's ready to eat.
