Corn Light Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. self-rising meal
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. flour (self-rising)
    pinch of salt
    2 c. buttermilk
    1 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients; add buttermilk.
    Heat shortening in loaf pan until very hot.
    Add batter and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour. Remove from oven and let cool in pan for 30 minutes.
    Serve either hot or cold.
    This is good with ham, barbecue or spareribs. Makes 1 loaf.
