Shrimp Creole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 Tbsp. oil
    6 Tbsp. flour
    2 c. chopped onions
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. chopped bell pepper
    1 c. chopped green onions
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    16 oz. tomato sauce
    2 bay leaves
    1 tsp. black pepper
    1 tsp. thyme
    1 tsp. basil
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
    1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 c. water
    3 lb. peeled shrimp
Preparation
    Heat oil in a large, heavy pot.
    Stir in flour and make a medium brown roux.
    Add onions, celery, bell pepper and green onions; saute until limp.
    Add garlic, tomato sauce, tomatoes, bay leaves, black pepper, thyme, basil, salt and cayenne.
    Cook for 15 minutes.
    Add Worcestershire sauce; simmer for about 20 minutes. This dish improves upon resting several hours.
